I grew up in a loving Christian family and my father was a Pastor. I knew all about  Jesus and the love of God but as an adult I turned my back on God. I did what I wanted. I partied, drank and tried drugs. My life was about living solely for how I felt and what I wanted to do. I was selfish.

I lost everything. My partner decided to leave me. I moved out and lived in a shed for a little while. I couldn’t see my two children for a few months. My life was a disaster. It wasn’t long before I got a room to rent in a flat. I didn’t know at the time, but my parents were praying. I was being blessed and looked after by God even though I was still living in sin.

After a few lonely months, my kids were finally allowed to visit. They asked me to go to Church with them and I finally did on Christmas Eve. Afterwards I dropped them off and drove home alone. God touched my heart. I decided on the drive home that I would go to church in the morning and give my life to Jesus. I would repent of my sins.

The next morning, I went to church and gave my life to Jesus. I heard a sermon called ‘The perfect gift on Christmas Day,’ and salvation truly was the perfect gift. Today I am still committed to my faith in Christ. There have been ups and downs, good days and bad days, but I have the knowledge that I am loved by my God and that nothing is too hard for Him. I have a good job, a good relationship with my parents and a wonderful relationship with my children who I see all the time. I thank God everyday for what He has done for me and my family.
