I had a great upbringing, a loving family and a happy childhood. I knew God was real but He seemed distant.
When I was 20, a few things happened which left me feeling lost and confused. My previous two boyfriends had died, then I met my future husband Craig. He was a member of an outlaw motorcycle club. I started to drink alcohol and use drugs. This went on for many years.
I fell pregnant and cleaned up my life. I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy and became a stay-at-home Mum. My husband spent a lot of time at the club and he ended up having a long-term affair with another woman. Even though I was heartbroken, I did not want to give up on our marriage.
I started to think about God and eternity. I was aware of the responsibility of raising a child and wanted God’s help. One day I went to Church with my Mum and I could sense the love of God toward me. I said a prayer and asked Jesus to walk with me every day. The grace of God strengthened me and gave me the ability to face what was happening in my marriage. Even though I was separated from my husband, I had faith that God would restore our marriage.
God answered my prayers and four years later, my husband came home. He became a Christian and our marriage was restored. We have been married for 34 years and have four children and four grandchildren. God has blessed us so much. The Christian life is ‘the best life!’. I am glad that I decided Jesus for eternity.
