I was raised in an amazing Christian family. We went to Church three times a week, but I didn’t want to be there.
At 17, I stopped going to Church and started hanging out with the wrong crowd, experimenting with drugs and breaking the law. I was enticed by money, nightclubs and the fast life. I was aggressive and violent and my drug use made it worse. By 23, I had an extensive criminal record and my world was spiralling out of control.
I was desperate to change but I didn’t know how. One night, I cried out to God to help me and I started attending Church again. However, I lived a double life, acting one way in Church and another way during the week. I joined the ‘new to faith’ course at my Church to help me on my journey. One night we discussed the power of the Holy Spirit and I truly encountered God. From that moment on, my life was never the same. Jesus set me free from addiction and the wrong way of living.
Today I am in Bible College, have a great job and wonderful friends. I have a new purpose in life and a big dream in my heart. I am glad I decided Jesus for eternity.
