In my early 20’s I joined an outlaw Motor Cycle Club and started to live a fast life. Drinking alcohol led to marijuana and then to speed.

I handled the money in the club so I had easy access to drugs and parties which I loved. At the time, I had an earthmoving business but as the years went by, my business began to suffer. I was always in trouble with the police, but managed to stay out of jail. I was in and out of court so much I had a full-time lawyer.

My wife had stopped partying when our first child came along, so I spent more time with the club.  I was rarely at home and began to cheat on my wife. Even though I regretted this, I found it impossible to change. I left the club after 13 years and tried my hardest to turn my life around, but I couldn’t.

I had lost the comradeship of the club, missed my wife and I was living on my own. I felt so empty in myself. My wife had become a Christian and I would taunt her for this. Nevertheless, I started attending Church with her. I was intrigued why everyone was so happy. I wanted what they had.

One night I cried out to God and asked Him to help me. I said a prayer and asked Jesus to forgive me and to help me find freedom. That night, I gave up drinking, using drugs and God restored my marriage. We have been married for 34 years and have four children and four grandchildren.  I know first-hand the power of God to change a life. I am glad that I decided Jesus for eternity.
